Hold on to your hats and bust out those fancy cardboard goggles because the Great American Eclipse is……headed our way on August 21, 2017.  This Total Solar Eclipse is thought to be the biggest public space science event since the moon landings.  Millions are expected to view this phenomenon throughout select areas of the U.S.

 

 Lexington and the surrounding region will be buzzing with gatherings and festivities at local wineries, historic sites, schools, backyards and of course downtown Lexington, MO.  So don’t experience this Total Solar Eclipse Alone!!!!!

 

 Ideal for watching the day turn dark, our area provides a near-mazimum full-eclipse time and unobstructed Southern views of the sky.  You will have an extraordinary opportunity to enjoy a prime position, total eclipse of the sun in Lexington and surrounding areas as we kickoff The Lexington Community Fair week.

 

 Missouri’s last total solar eclipse was August 7, 1869.  And since the next total eclipse in Missouri won’t be back until 2151, let’s make this celestial event one to remember!!!!!

 

 ***The Lexington Tourism Bureau is your 1 stop shop*** located at 1110 Main Sreet where you are encouraged to purchase your special Eclipse glasses for $1, take a chance on a special 50/50 raffle button for $5 (this also gets you a free bottle of water). Oh, and you get ½ of the 50/50 raffle money if your # is drawn.  Also available for purchase are Souvenir Pencils for $1 each.  The Tourism office suggests you to take the day off, bring your lunch, lawn chairs/blanket and join them in downtown Lexington.  For more info, you may reach their office at (660) 259-4711.

On Monday August 21st, people across America will get to witness a once in a lifetime TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE!!!!  Come “RELISH THE MOMENT” with a luncheon at Dave’s Country Market in the parking lot!  Lunch is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. while supplies last.

 

Don’t miss your chance to celebrate this unforgettable experience!  All proceeds will be given back to our community.

Margaret Gray Center to host Ninth Annual Fried Chicken Dinner at the Lexington Community Fair

 The Margaret Gray Center is hosting their Ninth annual fried chicken dinner fundraiser at the Lexington Community Fair on Monday, August 21st, from 4:30 p.m.  -  6:30 p.m.  They will be serving fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, bread, and dessert for $8.00 per person.

 

 There will also be door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, a pie auction, entertainment, and more during this event.

 

 The center invites all to come out and enjoy the fun, food, and fellowship as Lexington gets ready for its own version of “Express Yourself” during the annual Lexington Community Fair.

 

 

 

RACK AND ROLL 8-BALL Pool Tournaments

 It’s “Cue-Time” all week long at Lexington’s downtown local sports bar—The Spotted Pig/Sports Bar.  Please join us for numerous 8-ball billiard pool tournaments that will take place as part of the Schedule of Events for the Lexington Community Fair.

 

 “Chalk is Cheap” as an amateur or a pro, you are sure to find a tournament night to

match your pool expertise!

 

 Come one, come all, you are sure to have a ball, as we “break” this returning sporting

event in at the 2017 Festival.

 

 Pay out for each night is 100% of the entry fees, with 1st Place receiving 75% and 25%

going to the 2nd Place finisher.

 Monday, August 21st -------Doubles Only Night------------------------ $10 entry fee per team
