Downtown Lexington MO

 Purpose

The Lexington Community Fair was established in 2009 to create an event celebrating our city and region to provide a social, family friendly atmosphere of fellowship, activities, and FUN for all ages.

Since the Fair encompasses the downtown historic district, it helps promote local commerce and turns the downtown area into a buzzing social hub. The Fair is also a favorite venue for high school reunions, drawing past residents back to the Lexington area.

Proceeds from the Community Fair are used for all types of local betterment projects. Past projects have included a joint effort with Lexington Pride resulting in nearly $12,000 for new downtown park benches and trash receptacles. Other future community projects will continue to benefit from Fair proceeds as well. We have recently purchased property at 12th and Main Street to develop a community park, which will eventually be the home base for future Fair activities.

That said, it is the unanimous decision of the Lexington Fair Board that the primary purpose of the Fair is to celebrate Summer, Express Yourself, and HAVE FUN!
